How VITA Can Help You
The VITA Program
The Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) program is an IRS-sponsored program that works with non-profit organizations to provide free basic income tax return preparation for qualified individuals. VITA uses IRS-certified volunteers to prepare an accurate, professional return that includes free electronic filing of both federal and state returns.
Are You Eligible for VITA?
The Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) program offers free tax help to people who generally make $60,000 or less, persons with disabilities, the elderly, and limited English speaking taxpayers who need assistance in preparing their own tax returns. IRS-certified volunteers provide free basic income tax return preparation with electronic filing to qualified individuals.
